Former D1 and Patriot Player will be the first to hold this role
MORRISTOWN, NJ – September 23rd, 2021 – Today, Patriot Lacrosse announced Jack Margiotta has joined the organization’s full-time administrative staff in the newly-created role, Director, Lacrosse Operations. The former Patriot player has served as a part-time Patriot coach for the last three years, and was an Under Armour All-America coach, leading the Command 2023 team to a regional championship.
Alongside his duties as Director, Margiotta will work closely on the Junior Rally Box Lacrosse – a program aimed at helping players develop skills and maintain their competitive advantage in the off-season.
Chuck Ruebling, Founder, Patriot Lacrosse, said: “Jack has a stellar reputation – there’s a reason he’s known as one of the best in the area to work with. He’s committed to strengthening our program while developing our players’ skills and, more importantly, their character. He knows it better than anyone, to be a good player you need to be an upstanding, selfless teammate, and that’s the mantra we live by. As a former Patriot player and D1 athlete he knows what it takes to make it in this sport and I look forward to watching him inspire everyone he works with.”
Margiotta added: “Having been a part of the Patriot family for the past 15+ years, it was a no-brainer for me to join the team full-time. This organization helped shape me into the man I am today and set me up for success. The staff truly cares about developing our players and I’m excited to play my part, helping these young men get to where they want to be on and off the field. It’s about more than just the sport – we’re striving to instill a character and work ethic that will last a lifetime. I’m proud today and every day to be a part of this family.”
Previously, Margiotta spent three years at Drew University serving as Project Manager in the Facilities Department. During his time there, Margiotta was a part-time coach for the school’s lacrosse program, working closely with Head Coach Doug Sage.
An athlete himself, Margiotta brings a rich and varied background to the role having played Division 1 college lacrosse for Mercer University (Southern Conference), and for his high school team, Trinity Pawling (Founders League, Class A, Division 1). Margiotta was a year-round Varsity athlete at Trinity Pawling, playing hockey and football for the school as well.
