Patriot Lacrosse has committed to raising $10,000.00 to sponsor a member of Team Uganda to participate in the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship that will be held in Denver this summer. Team Uganda will be the first team to ever participate from the African continent.
The Dream campaign, which is focused on bringing Team Uganda to the World Games, is powered by the non-profit Fields of Growth. Fields of Growth was started in 2009 with the mission “to harness the passion of the lacrosse community into positive social impact through global leadership development, service and growing the game. “ You can read all about their accomplishments on their website.
The benefits of this fundraising campaign are twofold; you will improve your lacrosse skills AND give back to the sport we love so much
How it Works?
December 1, 2013 - December 21, 2013 get as many sponsors as you can to make a pledge for how many hours you will work on your stick work from December 22 – January 5.
Ex) $1 for every hour Derek Ruebling does wall ball from 12/22-1/5
December 22- Jan 5 get in as much practice as you can! We PROMISE this will make you a better player AND teammate
Send us a picture, video, whatever! Of you practicing and be featured on the Patriot Facebook page.
Jan 6 – Jan 15 contact all your sponsors of your achievements and submit donations via our crowdrise page
Tips:
Use the Patriot wall ball routine located our website. All you need are a wall, a ball, and a stick.
Patriot Lacrosse’s goal is 100% participation. Together we can achieve our goal and allow a deserving young man from Uganda to achieve his DREAM!
When sending Christmas cards, take one and send it to our servicemen.
Here is the information about how to send the cards. The address is shown, as is the deadline for mailing of December 6.
Cards should be addressed inside to: Dear Service Member.
You do not need individual envelopes for each card. Any you send can be put in one larger envelope (without envelopes) since they would all be opened and removed anyway.
You should not put your address or anything personal such as photographs or letters with the cards as they would also be removed. You can just sign the card and if you choose to you can thank each one for his/her service to our country.
Do not send cards that have glitter on them as it could cause problems in the case of someone who is hospitalized.
Thank you for considering this project.
